CONFLICT, DISCHARGE: Astoria Show Cancelled

December 22, 2008

The previously announced January 31, 2009 concert at the the Astoria venue in London, England featuring legendary U.K. punk bands CONFLICT and DISCHARGE has been cancelled.

Commenced CONFLICT vocalist Colin Jerwood: "The powers that be have INSISTED that the Astoria venue in London will now close on January 19th (even though all crew and staff have been paid until the end of that month).

"CONFLICT's appearance scheduled for January 31st is therefore unavoidably canceled and people should request ticket refunds from outlets as soon as possible.

"CONFLICT only agreed to make the unscheduled appearance due to the fact that it was the last-ever punk festival to be held at the Astoria, and to raise urgently needed finance for appropriate causes.

"CONFLICT will NOT be organising an alternative appearance for the January 31st. As previously stated, CONFLICT will only make appearances that have reason and refuse to become part of the growing anarchist entertainment touring scene..

"The police had voiced concern at what could happen with a group such as CONFLICT concluding events at the London Astoria and frequently referred to the recent actions in Greece, highlighting the fact that CONFLICT slogans have been used in literature, and painted on walls and clothing."
